COVID-19 Update:
Over 11,000 New Cases,
Test Positivity Rate at 27.26%


Sofia, February 2 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 963,108, after 40,863 tests identified 11,143 newly infected persons on Tuesday, of whom 76.17 per cent are unvaccinated, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate for the day stands at 27.26 per cent.

The active cases are 250,935.

Currently, the hospitalized patients number 5,799, including 533 in intensive care. Of the 841 new hospital admissions, 85.37 per cent are not vaccinated.

Another 4,354 COVID patients recovered over the latest reporting period, bringing the total to 678,768.

Of 87 fatalities reported on Tuesday, 82.76 per cent were unvaccinated, and the death toll now adds up to 33,405.

With 8,192 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,173,659 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 1,999,666 people are fully vaccinated, and 615,816 have received a booster jab. LN//
