Balance on Goods in November Recorded Deficit of 562.8 Million Euro

January 19 (BTA) - The balance on goods recorded a
deficit of 562.8 million euro in November 2021, compared with a
deficit of 317.9 million in November 2020, the Bulgarian
National Bank said in a press release on Wednesday. In January -
 November 2021 the balance on goods was negative amounting to
2,802.9 million euro (4.3 per cent of GDP), compared with a
deficit of 1,646.9 million (2.7 per cent of GDP) in January -
November 20.
    
Exports of goods amounted to 3,171.7 million euro in November
2021, increasing by 709.4 million (28.8 per cent) from 2,462.3
million in November 2020. In January - November 2021 exports of
goods totalled 31,156.7 million euro (47.4 per cent
of GDP), increasing by 6,122.5 million (24.5 per cent)
year-on-year.
    
Imports of goods amounted to 3,734.5 million euro in November
2021, increasing by 954.3 million (34.3 per cent) from November
2020 (2,780.2 million). In January - November 2021 imports of
goods totalled 33,959.6 million euro (51.7 per cent of
GDP), up by 7,278.5 million (27.3 per cent) from January -
November 2020.

The current and capital account recorded a deficit of 178.9
million euro in November 2021, compared with a deficit of 207.9
million in November 2020. In January - November 2021 the current
 and capital account was positive amounting to 363.4 million
euro (0.6 per cent of GDP), compared with a surplus of 852.8
million (1.4 per cent of GDP) in January - November 2020.
 
The current account was negative amounting to 346.3 million euro
 in November 2021, compared with a negative balance amounting to
 271 million in November 2020. In January - November 2021 the
current account was negative and amounted to 477.3 million euro
(0.7 per cent of GDP), compared with a deficit of 7.6 million
(0.01 per cent of GDP) in January - November 2020.
    
The capital account recorded a surplus of 167.4 million euro,
compared with a positive balance of 63.1 million in November
2020. In January - November 2021 the capital account recorded a
surplus of 840.7 million euro (1.3 per cent of GDP), compared
with a positive balance of 860.4 million (1.4 per cent of GDP)
in January - November 20.    

The financial account recorded a negative balance of 491.4
million euro, compared with a positive balance of 425.4 million
in November 2020. In January - November 2021 the financial
account recorded a net inflow of 2,910.9 million euro (4.4 per
cent of GDP) compared with an inflow of 2,734.8 million (4.5 per
 cent of GDP) in January - November 2020
    
Foreign direct investment in Bulgaria (under the directional
principle) grew by 130.6 million euro in November 2021 according
 to preliminary data, compared with an increase of 64.9 million
in November 20204. In January - November 2021 foreign direct
investment in Bulgaria increased by 1,277.1 million euro,
compared with an increase of 2,387.2 million in January -
November 2020.
