Sofia, December 30 (BTA) - The Total Producer Price Index (PPI) in November 2021 increased by 5.8 per cent compared with October 2021 and by 31 per cent year-on-year, the National Statistical Institute reported here on Thursday.

In the past month, price increase was registered in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (16.3 per cent), in manufacturing (1.8 per cent) and in the mining and quarrying industry (1.0 per cent).

Higher prices were observed in the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products (6.3 per cent), manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products (3.4 per cent) and in printing and reproduction of recorded media (2.6 per cent). Lower prices were registered in the manufacture of wood and of products of wood and cork, except furniture; manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting materials by 2.6 per cent and in the manufacture of machinery and equipment by 0.1 per cent.

The Total PPI in November 2021 increased by 31.0 per cent compared to the same month of 2020. The prices went up in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 70.5 per cent, in manufacturing by 19.4 per cent and in the mining and quarrying industry by 12.5 per cent.

In manufacturing, more noticeable increase in prices was reported in the manufacture of basic metals by 50.9 per cent, in the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products by 31.5 per cent, in the manufacture of wood and of products of wood and cork, except furniture; manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting materials by 22.1 per cent, and in the manufacture of rubber and plastic products by 17.2 per cent.
