Deputy Parliament Chair Miteva Reports on EU-Bulgarian Law Project Implementation

December 20 (BTA) - Deputy Parliament Chair Iva Miteva
reported the implementation of the project "Enhancing the
efficiency in the implementation of the directives and measures
for the implementation of the acts of the European Union in the
Bulgarian laws". The project began in 2018 with financial
support from Operational Programme Good Governance, and is
co-financed by the EU through the European Social Fund.

Miteva said that the most difficult part of the project's
implementation was its start, because the National Assembly had
never been a beneficiary under such projects with a specific
legal focus.

Parliament's chief Secretary Gabriela Kilfanova noted
thattheproject has four main areas, including the building of an
integrated information system -  the National Assembly's
internet portal, training of staff and administration and
improving their expertise when EU legislation is introduced.

Miteva expressed hope that the National Assembly's webpage,
which was created, will benefit all Bulgarian citizens, allow
them to see the European norms introduced into Bulgarian
legislation and the procedures that the European Commission
initiates towards Bulgaria. This will allow for corrections to
be made promptly, Miteva argued. DT/YV/MY
