Trips of Foreigners to Bulgaria Up 35.4% in October 2021, Y/Y

November 29 (BTA) - In October 2021, foreigners made
567,600 trips to Bulgaria, which is by 35.4 per cent more than
in the same month of 2020, show data published by the National
Statistics Institute on Monday. Just over half of these trips
were transit ones (53.3 per cent).

Bulgarians' trips abroad numbered  519,700 in October 2021, up
by 5.4 per cent year-on-year.

Out of all foreigners who visited Bulgaria last month, 42.7 per
cent were EU nationals, the biggest share of whom from Romania
(31.8 per cent), Greece (21.6 per cent), and Germany (15.6 per
cent). Nationals of other European countries accounted for 47.7
per cent of all visits to Bulgaria, the biggest share of whom
from Turkey (54 per cent).

In October 2021, the relative share of trips by purpose was 63.7
 per cent for other purposes, 22.8 per cent for tourism, and
13.5 per cent for business.
