COVID-19 Update: 9,152 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 26.1%

February 3 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 972,260, after 35,040 tests identified 9,152 new infections on Wednesday, 75.45 per cent of which were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 26.12 per cent.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 1,907 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 956 cases and Burgas Region with 771.

The active cases are 255,422. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 5,917, including 565 in intensive care. Of the 797 new hospital admissions, 84.57 per cent were not vaccinated.

The infected medical staff have reached 21,031.

Another 4,578 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 683,346.

Eighty-seven fatalities were reported (86.21 per cent unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 33,492.

With 8,570 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,182,208 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,003,025 people are fully vaccinated, and 620,413 have received a booster jab.
