COVID-19 Update: 11,049 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 24%

Sofia, January 25 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 891,277 after 45,885 tests identified 11,049 new infections on Monday, 78 per cent of which were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 24 per cent.

Sofia tops the list of new cases with 2,531 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv with 1,212, Stara Zagora with 760, Blagoevgrad with 682 and Varna with 634.

The active cases are 207,491. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 5,327, including 517 in intensive care. Of the 949 hospital admissions, 84.6 per cent are not vaccinated.

Another 5,847 COVID-19 patients recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 650,990.

Of the 132 reported fatalities 90.9 per cent were unvaccinated, and the death toll now adds up to 32,796.

With 6,890 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,104,239 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 1,977,975 people are fully vaccinated, and 573,669 have received a booster jab. DD
