President Radev to Make Official Visit to Cyprus

Sofia, November 26 (BTA) - President Rumen Radev will make an official visit to Cyprus on November 27-28, his press secretariat said. Radev and his delegation are scheduled to meet with President Nicos Anastasiades, Parliament President Demetris Syllouris, Chrysostomos II, Archbishop of Nova Justiniana and All Cyprus, and University of Cyprus Rector Constantinos Christofides.

On Monday, Radev will meet with representatives of the Bulgarian community and will participate in the naming of a street after Bulgarian revolutionary Vassil Levski in Lakatamia, a suburb of Nicosia.

Radev will confer the Order of the Madara Horseman, First Class, on Sotiroula Charalambous, Deputy General Secretary of the Pancyprian Federation of Labour (PEO) and labour and social insurance minister (2008-2013), for her contribution to the two countries' relations in social affairs and for protecting the social rights of Bulgarians working in Cyprus.

The following documents will be signed during the visit: an intergovernmental Programme for Cooperation in Education, Science, Culture, Youth and Sports 2018-2021 and a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between Bulgaria's Executive Agency Maritime Administration and the Department of Merchant Shipping of Cyprus's Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works.

On Tuesday, Radev will give a talk on Europe's digital future at the University of Cyprus.

Deputy Foreign Minister Emilia Kraleva will accompany the President.
