Sofia, November 24 (BTA) - The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned Friday's attack on a mosque in Bir al-Abed in Egypt's North Sinai province.

"This barbaric act carried out during Friday's prayer shows the true face of the extremist ideology and should unite us in the efforts to cut the roots of radicalism and terror," the statement says.

"We deeply empathize with the suffering of relatives of the dozens victims and we hope that the friendly people of Egypt will overcome this tragedy and tackle the challenges of terrorism."

News reports say that there are at least 235 victims.
