Foreign Diplomats Visit Rakovski Industrial Zone

Rakovski, South Central Bulgaria, June 21 (BTA) - Heads of foreign diplomatic missions accredited to Bulgaria and representatives of international organizations visited companies in the Rakovski Industrial Zone, which is part of the Trakia Economic Zone (TEZ). The visit was organized by the Foreign Ministry, the Economy Ministry, the Tourism Ministry and the Trakia Economic Zone.

In his remarks, Bulgarian Economy Minister Emil Karanikolov said that the successful business model of TEZ has encouraged international companies to expand their operations in Bulgaria, which is an indicator that Bulgaria offers investment-friendly conditions.

He stressed that the Bulgarian Government and the Economy Ministry in particular work for the further development and opportunities to attract investments. As important factors conducive to investments, Karanikolov listed the good location, the transport infrastructure, and the availability of suitable facilities and skilled labour.

Plovdiv Regional Governor Zdravko Dimitrov said that over 2 billion leva have been invested in TEZ in the 22 years since its establishment.

Plovdiv Mayor Ivan Totev said that TEZ is the largest economic cluster and its experience can be tapped for similar projects.
