Education Minister Vulchev Confers with
EC Director-General for Education and Culture

Sofia, June 9 (BTA)- Meeting European Commission's
Director-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture Martine
 Reicherts, Education and Science Minister Krassimir Vulchev
said that the ambition of his Ministry is to improve the quality
 of and access to education, and to expand the partnership with
other policies in the sector, Vulchev's Ministry said in a press
 release Friday.

Vulchev dwelled on the efforts to raise the social standing of
teachers and to ensure incentives and better pay. He spoke about
 the need in dedicated young people to work as teachers in small
 towns and villages who will be called on to teach in a totally
different environment from 20 years ago.

Reicherts noted the role of the Minister in implementing the
ambitious reforms.
