Bulgaria's Current and Capital Account Record EUR 635.7 Mln Surplus in July 2016

Sofia, September 17 (BTA) - Bulgaria's current and capital account recorded a surplus of 635.7 million euro in July 2016, compared with a positive balance of 566 million euro in July 2015, the Bulgarian National Bank reported on September 16.

In January-July 2016 the current and capital account was positive amounting to 2,223.7 million euro (4.9% of GDP), compared with a surplus of 1,205.2 million euro (2.7% of GDP) in January-July 2015.

The current account was positive amounting to 513.4 million euro in July 2016, compared with a surplus of 470.7 million euro in July 2015. In January-July 2016 the current account was positive and amounted to 1,293.5 million euro (2.8% of GDP), compared with a surplus of 380.5 million euro (0.9% of GDP) in January-July 2015.

The capital account recorded a surplus of 122.3 million euro, compared with a positive balance of 95.3 million euro in July 2015. In January-July 2016 the capital account recorded a surplus of 930.3 million euro (2% of GDP), compared with a positive balance of 824.6 million euro (1.9% of GDP) in January-July 2015.

The financial account recorded a net inflow of 566.5 million euro, compared with a positive balance of 582.5 million euro in July 2015. In January-July 2016 the financial account recorded a net inflow of 2,090.2 million euro (4.6% of GDP) compared with an inflow of 2,057.1 million euro (4.7% of GDP) in January-July 2015.

Bulgaria's balance on goods recorded a deficit of 32.8 million euro in July 2016, compared with a deficit of 254.2 million euro in July 2015. In January-July 2016 the balance on goods was negative amounting to 848.6 million euro (1.9% of GDP), compared with a deficit of 1,392.3 million euro (3.2% of GDP) in January-July 2015.
