Justice Minister Zaharieva Meets with German Counterpart Maas in London
London/Sofia, May 12 (BTA) - Bulgarian Justice Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva Thursday agreed with Germany's Federal Minister of Justice and Consumer Protection Heiko Maas on the holding of bilateral expert meetings. The two ministers met within the global Anti-Corruption Summit in London Thursday, Zaharieva's ministry said in a press release. The Justice Minister is part of the Bulgarian delegation led by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.
Maas accepted the Bulgarian proposal for bilateral seminars and conferences, which will support the exchange of experience and will be useful in the solving of current problems and practical cases in the justice sphere.
Zaharieva thanked her German counterpart for the quick reaction of his country, which agreed to send an expert who will participate in the mission entasked with conducting an independent analysis of the Bulgarian prosecuting magistracy.
Maas praised the organization of the high-level conference of Justice Ministers of Council of Europe member states, hosted by Sofia in April.
