PM Borissov Confers with European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Navracsics

Sofia, November 13 (BTA) - Prime Minister Boyko Borissov conferred Friday with Tibor Navracsics, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, Borissov's office said in a press release.

The two discussed the government's priorities in education. Borissov outlined the steps for gradual increase of the funding for education. The PM also dwelled on the new Pre-school and School Education Act passed in September. With the new law Bulgaria carried out a key recommendation of the European Council and the European Commission which was part of the package of specific recommendations to this country vis-a-vis the implementation of the national programme of reforms.

Borissov and Navracsics concurred that education and labour market needs should be connected so as to contribute to the economic development.
