Future Now 2006 Community Centre Receives European Parliament Civil Prize Award

Sofia, October 9 (BTA) - The Future Now 2006 community centre of
 the village of Goudevitsa, Smolyan Region, is this year's
Bulgarian winner of the European Parliament's Citizen's Prize
for a project titled "School amidst Nature". It is intended to
teach children by informal means.

A total of 47 participants from European countries are to
receive the award. They will participate in a ceremony in
Brussels scheduled for October 14-15.

President Rosen Plevneliev was a special guest at the award
ceremony in Sofia on Friday. He stressed the importance of
proactive citizens at a time when the world is torn by conflicts
 and crises.

Friday's event was organized by the EP Information Office in
Bulgaria and was hosted by the Sofia Art Gallery.
