Tourism Board: Bookings Rise Recently
Sofia, July 24 (BTA) - Bookings have increased in the last few
days according to data presented at a National Tourism Board
meeting on Thursday. Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova
attended the meeting which focused on projections for the
summer.
The number of Russian tourists is expected to drop 20 per cent.
Contrary to expectations, about 5 per cent more Ukrainians will
visit Bulgaria according to the latest data. About 30,000
Moldovans are expected, up 40 per cent on 2014.
Growth was also projected for the German market, with 5 per cent
more holidaymakers than in 2014; Turkey 10 per cent; Austria 10
to 15 per cent; Israel 10 per cent; France 5 per cent; the
Scandinavian countries 2 to 3 per cent; Greece 5 per cent; and
Romania 3 per cent. The number of Britons coming for their
summer holidays to Bulgaria will either remain unchanged from
2014 or will increase 2 or 3 per cent.
Data about the past winter season show that 1,180,000 foreigners
visited Bulgaria between December 2014 and March 2015, up 8 per
cent on the previous winter. Bulgaria offers great conditions
for ski tourism between December and early April, but bookings
in March are too few because of insufficient information.
