Unionists Protest against Security of Electricity System Fund
Sofia, July 23 (BTA) - Structures of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) and the Podkrepa Labour Confederation in heating utilities and energy companies will stage one-hour silent protests in front of the buildings of their employers, the press centre of CITUB said on Thursday. The protests have been prompted by a change in the Energy Act establishing a Security of the Electricity System Fund.
According to the change, every month producers should contribute five per cent of their revenues to the Fund as the charge is aimed to compensate for the deficit of the National Electric Company. Electricity traders should also make contributions to the Fund, the trade union says.
