European Commission: Bulgarian Could Become Regional Hub for SME Startups

Brussels, July 22 (BTA Correspondent Nikolay Jeliazkov) - Speaking at a news conference here Wednesday, European Commission Vice-President Jyrki Katainen said that Bulgaria is an interesting country from the point of view of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

"I visited there just a couple of months ago and I got the feeling that Bulgaria could become a regional hub for startups. That is the reason why we have been discussing with the European Investment Bank to help Bulgarian authorities to benefit from advisory services," he told the news conference.

"Bulgaria could start a hub in which there is not only money but also technical assistance, so we will continue discussing this with Bulgarian authorities," Katainen added.
