PM Borissov Assures President Vujanovic of  Bulgaria's Support for Montenegro's EU, NATO Integration

Sofia, July 10 (BTA) - Meeting with Montenegro's President Filip Vujanovic here Friday, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov reiterated Bulgaria's support for Montenegro's integration with the EU and NATO, said the government press office. Vujanovic met with Borissov on his second day in Bulgaria where he is paying an official visit.

Borissov voiced hope that Montenegro will receive an invitation to join the North Atlantic Alliance before the end of 2015.

Vujanovic thanked Borissov for the support.

The two sides assessed in highly positive terms the dynamics of political dialogue between the two countries.

According to Borissov, there is untapped potential in trade and economy, especially considering Montenegro's commercial exchange with other countries in Southeastern Europe. Growth opportunities can also be sought in the area of investments which have so far been negligible.

Borissov underscored specific areas and projects where the two countries can cooperate.

Special attention was paid to tourism, including the opportunities for widening the contacts between tour operators of the two countries. A bilateral agreement on cooperation in tourism is currently being updated and the two sides are also discussing the opening of a direct air service between Sofia and Podgorica. Measures in a bilateral programme on research and technical cooperation can also have a positive economic effect.
