Sofia City Prosecution Office Submits
Indictment against Former
Sofia City Court President Yaneva
Sofia, July 9 (BTA) - The Sofia City Prosecution Office has submitted the indictment against former Sofia City Court president Vladimira Yaneva to the court, the prosecution said Thursday. The other defendant in the case is Todor Kostadinov, the former director of the Interior Ministry's Internal Security Department.
In March, Yaneva was suspended as President of the Sofia City Court because of pretrial proceedings launched against her over a recent scandal with a wiretapping operation codenamed Worms. It transpired that the question is about information leakage from the Interior Ministry for unknown purposes after Yaneva unlawfully authorized the use of special surveillance means in the period from September 12, 2013 to March 25, 2014.
Yaneva has been left in remand.
Kostadinov is charged with preparing six documents making false statements which were to be used before the President of Sofia City Court as evidence. Kostadinov has been released on bail of 2,000 leva./PK/BR
