Bulgaria Marks Day of  Bulgarian Education, Culture, Slav Letters

Sofia, May 24 (BTA) - On May 24, Bulgaria marks the Day of
Bulgarian Education and Culture and Slav Letters with processions and celebrations across the country.

Education and Science Minister Todor Tanev and Sofia Mayor
Yordanka Fandakova head a procession in the capital with the
participation of ministers, teachers, education and cultural
figures, pupils and citizens, the Education and Science Ministry
 said in a press release. Slovakian Education, Science, Research
 and Sport Minister Juraj Draxler, who is on an official visit
to Bulgaria, and Slovakian Ambassador here Marian Jakubocy also
take part in the procession.

For a fourth consecutive year, the Presidency building is open
to citizens on the occasion of May 24, the press secretariat of
the head of State said. Visitors can see the oldest copy of
"Istoriya Slavyanobulgarska", created by Sophronius of Vratsa
250 years ago, from the fund of the Sts Cyril and Methodius
National Library.

The St Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia marks May 24 with an
 academic celebration, the university's press centre said.
