State Agency to Be in Charge of  E-Government

Sofia, May 23 (BTA) - The Council for Administrative Reform
discussed at a meeting on Friday a concept for the creation of
an E-Government State Agency, the Government Information Service
said.

Deputy Prime Minister Roumyana Buchvarova noted that the goal is
to achieve greater stability and operativeness, as well as to
speed up the work on e-government by creating a single structure
as the driving force behind the processes.

The idea is to establish the agency by restructuring the bodies
which are currently in charge of e-government. The new state
agency will be responsible of the strategic planning and budget
programming of horizontal policies on e-government, as well as
the maintenance of the technical infrastructure, the information
centres and the communication network of the state
administration, the press release reads.
