Sofia, May 23 (BTA) - The South-East European Cooperation
Process (SEECP) is a leading political format for cooperation in
the region and a factor for security, stability and prosperity,
said Bulgarian Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov in Tirana, where
he took part in a SEECP foreign ministerial on Friday.

The foreign ministerial was part of the concluding events of
Albania's SEECP Chairmanship-in-Office. The foreign ministers of
the countries participating in the SEECP discussed the latest
development in Southeastern Europe, as well as the opportunities
for the SEECP's adaption to the current challenges facing the
region in view of achieving a more effective cooperation focused
on actual results.

Mitov underscored the SEECP's importance for the EU integration
of the countries from the Western Balkans. He noted that the
20th anniversary of the SEECP coincides with the Bulgarian
Chairmanship-in-Office (July 1, 2015-June 30, 2016). The Foreign
Minister presented in short the main priority spheres of
cooperation, such as energy and infrastructure connectivity, the
freedom of media and of expression, migration and management of
the refugee flow. He underscored that Bulgaria will continue to
make efforts in the spheres set as priority ones by the
previous two chairmanships of the SEECP.

The participants in the SEECP foreign ministerial confirmed the
re-election of Regional Cooperation Council Secretary General
Goran Svilanovic for a period of three years as of January 1,
2016. The foreign ministers also adopted a Declaration of the
SEECP Tirana Summit, which will be approved by the heads of
