PM Borissov Undergoes
Knee
Surgery

Sofia, February 28 (BTA) - Prime Minister Boyko Borissov
underwent a knee surgery on Saturday at Sofiamed Hospital in
Sofia.

The surgery mended a torn meniscus, explained surgeon Toni
Geogriev. The Prime Minister was hospitalised on Saturday and
will be discharged on Sunday. Usually the recovery from such a
surgery is quick because the trauma from the intervention is
minimal, Georgiev said.

Once he is discharged from the hospital, Borissov will be able
to walk but should avoid strenuous activities for at least 12
days after the operation, the surgeon said.
The motor recovery continues around 30 days, he added.

The doctors advised Borissov to not play football anymore
because this is a very risky sport for traumas like his. Tennis,
which is another sport practised by Borissov, is not so risky
but can still lead to a new trauma, Georgiev noted.

This is the Prime Minister's third knee surgery done by
Geogriev.
