There Is No Increase of Applications for Bulgarian Citizenship by Ukrainian Nationals

Souhindol, February 14 (BTA) - The Commission on Citizens'
Affairs with the Presidency and the Justice Ministry have not
reported a higher number of applications for Bulgarian
citizenship by Ukrainian nationals, Vice President Margarita
Popova told journalists on Saturday.

Popova said that she is planning to visit the Bulgarian
community in Crimea by the end of her term in office and
recalled that so far she has visited twice the Bulgarian
Diaspora in Ukraine. Europe has provided the guidelines for what
should happen in Ukraine and now the political authorities in
this country have the huge responsibility to comply within them.


Popova was adamant that "the topic of our compatriots in Ukraine
should not be used for political purposes by the parliamentary
forces".
