GERB Propose that Electricity
from New Green Power Plants
Be Not Purchased at Feed-in Tariffs
Sofia, February 5 (BTA) - The GERB Party propose that feed-in
tariffs will not apply to the electricity produced by new power
plants harnessing renewable energy sources because the national
target has been met, National Assembly Energy Committee Chairman
Delyan Dobrev told journalists here on Thursday. The motion
will be included in amendments to the Energy Act before they
come up for a second reading, he specified.
"Feed-in tariffs should be inapplicable to all new renewable
energy source plants as from the date of adoption of the
revisions, with the exception of new power plants running on
animal waste and manure. The potential for building such power
capacities, however, is anyway small," Dobrev explained. PK/LG
